The new iPad—the third generation—is officially on sale today and, like clockwork, there are lines outside stores. This is the first product release for the new Apple Store at Grand Central, and it seems like the terminal's cavernous halls are perfect for waiting during this miserable day, some of the lines are inside long hallways.

One person at Grand Central—CNN tech writer Julianne Pepitone— Tweeted, "People are literally running up the stairs at Grand Central Apple Store to claim a new #iPad, as store staffers cheer." She also shared this exchange, "Me: "Hi, I'm from CNN. Can I interview you about the #iPad?" Middle-aged woman: "F--- you." Yep, it's time to head back to the office."
