Robert Cain, the special-education teacher accused of having sex with a student at James Madison High School every day for two months, landed a job in Hackensack last fall, weeks after resigning from the Brooklyn school amid a probe, the Post reported.
Cain is the fifth teacher to be involved in a sex scandal at James Madison in the last six years. The rampant sexual misconduct, alleged and substantiated, has garnered the school the tabloid nickname Horndog High. Cain allegedly groomed a student and had sex with her in his office and another school room, and once drove her to a Brooklyn Comfort Inn where he photographed their encounter, according to a city investigation report obtained by the Post.
Cain was never criminally charged and managed to keep the reason for his departure hush-hush enough to get hired at Bergen Arts and Science Charter High School, management of which emailed parents on Monday to assure them his contract has not been renewed, according to the Post.
Nihat Guvercin, CEO of North Jersey Arts and Science Charter Schools, told the tabloid he learned of the accusations against Cain by reading the Sunday paper, but said the reasons for canning Cain are unrelated.
