A 22-year-old man wanted for a deadly Brooklyn crash is now facing a slew of charges after police took him into custody at the airport as he was trying to flee the country, officials said.

According to the NYPD, Sobirjon Abdurazakov was behind the wheel of an Audi A5 that rear-ended a Toyota Camry on Ocean Parkway and Avenue S just after midnight on Oct. 5.

The Camry then hit a Toyota Rav 4 in front of it before plowing into a tree.

The collision killed the Camry’s 62-year-old driver, later identified as Yaya Dia, and sent his 39-year-old passenger to the hospital with injuries. The Rav 4 driver was treated on scene, according to police, while Abdurazakov ran away.

On Tuesday, police stopped Abdurazakov at JFK Airport as he prepared to board a flight to Uzbekistan, where officials said he is from. Officers brought him back to the 61st precinct in southern Brooklyn, not far from the Midwood intersection where the chain-reaction crash occurred.

Abdurazakov was charged with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, assault, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, reckless endangerment and speeding. Police said he was traveling well above the area’s 25-mile-per-hour speed limit when he set off the crash. Information for his attorney was not immediately available as he awaited arraignment in Brooklyn criminal court.

Dia, who was Mauritanian and previously lived in Senegal, had been driving for Lyft for about 15 years, according to local reports. Police said he lived in Flatbush.

This is a developing story and may be updated.
