A Google engineer was arraigned today in Manhattan Supreme Court on allegations that he raped a woman in his East 12th Street apartment on June 1st. Justin Chan, a Canadian transplant who works out of Google's Manhattan HQ, allegedly met the woman on the street, did a shot of whiskey with her, and then took her back to his apartment.

According to the criminal complaint, Chan raped the woman while she "was repeatedly asking defendant to stop while crying." At today's court appearance, a prosecutor said, "Although [Chan] doesn’t have a criminal history, he has numerous complaints of sexual assault against (him) which are being investigated at this time,” the Daily News reports.

The Post offers more graphic detail. One source tells the tabloid that Chan told his victim, "It will be over in five seconds" and that he used a condom. The article ends with the observation that "the shaggy-haired creep, whose tattoo peeked out of a crumpled white button-down shirt, left court holding hands with a leggy gal pal in a short summer dress, flashing numerous thigh and arm tattoos."

Chan pleaded not guilty and was released on $50,000 bail. Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
