Here's what else is happening:
- Newly arrived migrants told Hell Gate the NYPD has singled them out for subway fare evasion-related tickets.
- A consulting firm found that 1 in 24 New York City residents is now a millionaire.
- A new bill in Albany would ban the statewide sale of certain handguns that are capable of being modified to fire like machine guns.
- Several residents of the Jacob Riis Houses in the East Village said their tap water has made them sick — with one tenant testing positive for arsenic poisoning — two years after Mayor Eric Adams said the water at the NYCHA complex wasn't contaminated.
- Police said a man and a woman who were apparently on a first date were sitting in a BMW sedan in Midtown at 3:15 a.m. on Tuesday when two armed men stole their car, got into a police chase and ultimately dumped the car on the Major Deegan Expressway.
- Macklemore made a song about the protesters' occupation of Columbia University's Hamilton Hall.
- Kendrick Lamar made a song about (among other things) famed Brooklyn pizzeria Lucali.
- A rodentologist said the city's pilot program of giving rats birth control may not work if wild rats don't like how it tastes, or if they prefer the taste of pizza and other readily available food scraps.
- The Yankees may have a good closer this year.
- Wearing your shirt untucked: easier said than done!
