Good Tuesday afternoon in New York City, where we'll get one more nice day before it heats up again.
Here's what else is happening:
- Today will technically be about a millisecond short of a full 24 hours, according to scientists.
- A personal finance website ranked Scarsdale as America's wealthiest suburb, citing the town's average household income of $600,000, according to 2023 returns.
- The New York Department of Corrections is about to make prisoner phone calls free.
- An AM New York reporter went to the Metropolitan Avenue/Lorimer Street G and L stop and saw four people jump a turnstile in the span of 30 minutes.
- The Broadway production of "John Proctor Is the Villain" will be extended for a third and final time.
- From the latest East Hampton Star police blotter: "A man 'with white hair and a blue jacket' took another patron’s phone during a movie at the Regal Cinema and said he would not return it. He later told police he’d taken the phone to 'make a stand' because the owner was talking loudly on it during the movie."
- The CEO of In-N-Out burger said she's leaving California for Tennessee (where there's no state income tax) because "raising a family [in California] is not easy."
- A can of lentil soup with some chicken nuggets mixed in is the grossest hangover cure I've ever heard of. (I respect it.)
- And finally, one foot dry for good luck:
