It’s Thursday afternoon in New York City, home of the Basketdolls, a trans basketball league.
Here’s what else is happening:
- The Children’s Museum of Manhattan is taking over a historic church on Central Park West and transforming it into an 80,000-square-foot “magical castle.”
- Move over Rome and Naples — NYC is home to the most top-rated pizzerias in the world.
- There’s a new tool in the fight against dog poop on the sidewalk: DNA testing. Some landlords are utilizing a dog poop testing service to determine culprits and dish out fines.
- A local art dealer is suing storage provider CubeSmart, claiming the company tried to conceal a yearlong water leak that ruined about $1 million of his artwork.
- It’s a tough market for vacation home rentals in Florida, so some owners are spending upwards of $150,000 to deck them out in elaborate Disney or Universal Studios décor to attract visitors.
- Outgoing NYC Schools Chancellor David Banks, who’s actually leaving earlier than expected, has reversed his stance on a cellphone ban in public schools.
- Chicken Big Macs are dropping next week.
- And finally, happy spooky month:
