- Slate has a provocative take (not written by a health expert) arguing we should let people roam outside again.
- New Yorkers are apparently drinking more wine than ever during the pandemic, and who could blame anyone.
- Michael Caputo, the new spokesman for the Department of Health and Human Services, in a series of now-deleted tweets made racist and derogatory comments about Chinese people, said Democrats wanted the coronavirus to kill millions of people, and accused the media of intentionally creating panic around the pandemic to hurt Donald Trump.
- Stephen Moore, a conservative economist and member of Trump’s economic task force, talked to the Times about the risks of reopening, what he's advising Trump, and his, uh, brilliant idea: "Why don’t we just put everybody in a space outfit or something like that?"
- Tom Hanks gave a Corona-brand typewriter to an Australian boy who was bullied for having the name Corona.
- One of Donald Trump’s most fervent billionaire donors is criticizing the stay-at-home order in her state of Wisconsin, saying the crisis has been “overhyped” by the media.
- New York rapper Fred The Godson has died of complications from COVID-19. He was 35.
- Oh great: afraid of COVID-19, parents are postponing child checkups, including shots, putting millions of children at risk of exposure to preventable deadly diseases.
- Every Sunday, upwards of 10,000 people log on to Dance Church.
- A Manhattan woman who flew on an American Airlines flight from Miami to LaGuardia says she was shocked that the flight was packed—and about half the passengers did not wear masks.
- Kate Beckinsale talks about everything Serendipity, the insane whimsical romcom that I love so, and I am here for it: "I’ve done so many of what I’d broadly and badly call “boys’ movies,” action movies and such — but if a man comes up to me and says I love a movie, it’s always Serendipity. Every single time. I find that really cool."
- Eater talked to restaurant employees from Kentucky, North Dakota, New York, Oregon, and Minnesota about getting through the pandemic.
- A grieving family cancelled a livestream funeral for a coronavirus victim after his anti-lockdown social media posts went viral.
- The Rolling Stones released a surprise new single, "Living In A Ghost Town," that has got a pretty great, Specials-influences vibe. And Stephen Malkmus performed "Spit On A Stranger" in a cafe in Paris (before everything, ya know, happened).
- And finally, rarely do we get to see a first sit recorded for all eternity, so let's really appreciate this one:
