Good Tuesday afternoon in New York City, where Brooklyn's Monsignor McGolrick Park got itself a wacky birding club.
Here's what else is happening:
- "You might know him from his years of saying utterly conventional things on CNN": NY Mag has a long piece about John Avlon, the New York City rich kid-turned-journalist who now lives in Sag Harbor and is running as a Democrat in Long Island's 1st Congressional District, which is currently represented by Republican Nick LaLota.
- The city's largest police union is suing the NYPD and Mayor Eric Adams over a new "zero-tolerance" policy regarding officers' use of anabolic steroids without approval from NYPD district surgeons.
- "Four people familiar with the situation" said Donald Trump is mad at his lawyer in the Stormy Daniels hush-money trial for not being more aggressive towards witnesses, jurors and the judge.
- Meanwhile, Trump allegedly keeps falling asleep in the courtroom.
- Mister Softee now has an app that shows the locations of all its ice cream trucks.
- "Hell's Kitchen," the Alicia Keys musical, got a Broadway-leading 13 Tony nominations.
- An NYU study found there's a 39% chance of having a live birth from a frozen egg — a rate that's far below what many women have been led to believe before they spend a good deal of money to freeze their eggs.
- Zoomers are watching Bob Barker-era "The Price Is Right" on Twitch.
- That white stuff on salami casing is indeed mold. (It's fine to eat.)
