Good Monday afternoon in New York City, where it's going to get warmer and wetter.
Here's what else is happening:
- Heads up, roughly 1 in 3 children who contract measles end up hospitalized.
- Outgoing City Councilmember Bob Holden of Queens, who's known as one of the most conservative Democrats in the legislative body, has taken the unusual step of endorsing two successor candidates: A Republican and a Democrat. Both are members of his staff. (The Republican will have to defeat a primary opponent: an anti-vaccine sperm donor who calls himself the "Sperminator.")
- Meet a Manhattan Vespa rider who kept getting tolled for trips that started and began within the Congestion Relief Zone, which is not supposed to happen.
- A runaway pink poodle who'd been successfully evading police in New Jersey was eventually rescued and returned to her owner after jumping into the freezing Passaic River yesterday.
- "Mamma Mia!" returns to Broadway in August.
- The North Jersey Ice Cream Shop Madness bracket is set.
- "U.S. Supreme Court weakens rules on discharge of raw sewage into water supplies."
- Stocks are down.
