Good Monday morning in New York City, where the temperature can't make up its mind.
Here's what else is happening:
- At yesterday's funeral in Borough Park for the mother and her two children who were fatally hit by an alleged recidivist speeder in an Audi on Saturday, a local lawmaker spoke out in opposition to speed cameras and other efforts to crack down on reckless drivers.
- Now three months after the city's Campaign Finance Board declined to give Mayor Eric Adams $4 million in public matching funds due to his federal corruption charges, his campaign has not appealed or done anything to try to get that money. (He insists he's still running!)
- A former teenage drug dealer's quest to create something like the McDonald's of legal weed dispensaries is not sitting well with some New Yorkers.
- Donald Trump's childhood home in Jamaica Estates, which had fallen into disrepair and become a hub for feral cats, just sold at a huge loss.
- In other Trump news, he just granted clemency to Ozy Media cofounder Carlos Watson just as Watson was traveling to a federal prison to serve a 10-year sentence for fraud.
- The Yankees may have lost some guys but they got better bats?
- Give us all boats!
