Good Monday morning in New York City, where the traffic is horrible right now.
Here's what else is happening:
- The NYPD says about 14,000 gang members live in New York City. At least 24 of them are allegedly part of Tren de Aragua, a Venezuelan gang that has taken up in local migrant shelters and started doing ride-by robberies on scooters.
- Orthodox Jews in Crown Heights are upset with the sanitation department for forcing them to wait until Friday after 6 p.m. to take out the trash, which conflicts with their observation of the Sabbath.
- The MTA's latest five-year capital plan calls for $1.75 billion to fix up 20 miles of above-ground subway tracks.
- There aren't as many spotted lanternflies in the city this year, which probably has more to do with their decision to seek food elsewhere and less to do with people stomping on them.
- Broadway hit "Oh, Mary!" is extending its run through Jan. 19.
- A 63-year-old California woman said she used her DNA test results to track down her long lost uncle, who'd been abducted from a park when he was six 6 old and raised by another family on the east coast.
- Tamagotchis are back.
- Fellas: Throw yourselves a little birthday party.
- And finally, FINALLY:
