Good Tuesday morning in New York City, where outdoor dining season is officially underway.
Here's what else is happening:
- The MTA complied with the Trump administration's request and sent that letter before the end of March detailing subway crime stats and the plan to reduce fare evasion.
- An update on yesterday's Long Island cat sanctuary fire: the facility's human owner and at least 100 cats died in the blaze.
- Dasheeda Dawson, the head of a city-run agency aimed at helping people start weed businesses, has abruptly resigned amid an investigation into whether she pressured a business owner into a polyamorous relationship in exchange for a city contract.
- Getting your OMNY taps declined to the point where you have to call customer service does not sound fun.
- Richie Akiva, the nightlife impresario, 1Oak founder and veteran member of Leonardo DiCaprio's "P***y Posse," was arrested in Manhattan over the weekend for driving with very tinted windows and a suspended license.
- Sam Mendes has selected the four actors who'll play the Beatles in his forthcoming biopics, and you can probably guess who got the parts (except for the guy playing George Harrison).
- Congrats to Morris County's Denville Dairy on being crowned the North Jersey Ice Cream Madness champion.
- I can't recommend these sandals enough.
