Good Thursday morning in New York City, where you can pick up free compost for your garden.
Here's what else is happening:
- Friends and professors of Mohsen Mahdawi, one of the Columbia students arrested by ICE for his pro-Palestinian activism, describe someone who was particularly committed to peace and collaboration with Jewish students.
- Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik, fresh off of having her nomination for U.N. ambassador essentially revoked, is considering a run for New York governor.
- "So if I get an order to pay a ticket for $1,200, and I just say, 'No,' does that stand up?"
- An investigation by The City found that in the year since a massive corruption crackdown at NYCHA, the housing authority has awarded $7.8 million in contracts to eight vendors who publicly confessed to participating in the decade-long bribery scheme.
- The Kool-Aid Man Challenge — where clout-chasing teens crash into someone's fence and say "Oh, yeah!" — appears to have hit Staten Island.
- One woman walked around New York City with a Luigi Mangione fan shirt wondering if anyone would find it offensive. Guess what?
- Fyre Fest 2 has been indefinitely postponed :/
- Kirkland Lager Summer.
