Good Wednesday morning in New York City, where George Santos says he won't run for Congress in November, after all.
Here's what else is happening:
- The New York Post reports that Sylvia Hinds-Radix, the Adams administration's top lawyer, expressed concerns about having the city's law department defend Mayor Adams against a sexual assault claim, was asked to resign, refused, and then found out through the news that the mayor is trying to replace her.
- Separately, Arva Rice — the interim head of the Civilian Complaint Review Board — has been asked by Mayor Adams to step down from the police watchdog group after she criticized the NYPD for not promptly turning over evidence for her review of a 2019 police shooting of a Bronx man in his apartment.
- JFK Airport's long-term parking lot is getting a massive solar canopy that'll power the AirTrain and some nearby residences.
- An immersive dance theater performance called "And Then, Now" is coming to Green-Wood Cemetery in May.
- Suffolk County police rescued seven baby ducklings from a storm drain in North Bellport this week.
- Some runaway army horses took a trot through London this morning.
- People will pay attention to the election when it's time — right now, we're watching the playoffs.
- Hotel room light switches have gotten very confusing.
