Good Monday morning in New York City, where the snow ain't over.
Here's what else is happening:
- Some Rich Boomers buy their adult children apartments.
- The city tweaked the traffic lights on 3rd Avenue on the Upper East Side to make drivers slow down — and to improve safety for cyclists and delivery workers on e-bikes.
- The FDNY said two cars blocking hydrants slowed firefighters' response to a Bay Ridge apartment fire yesterday that killed a 37-year-old man and critically injured a 34-year-old woman and a 2-year-old.
- "It’s no secret that a lot of bad stuff is happening not too far from us, and if we don’t hold government accountable, before we know it, the problems of the other boroughs will become our own": Griffin Fossella, the 27-year-old son of Staten Island Borough President Vito Fossella, is running for the City Council seat vacated by Republican Joe Borelli.
- An attempted murder trial for the man accused of stabbing Salman Rushdie in the eye begins today in upstate New York.
- A monkey that touched a transformer in Sri Lanka might've single-handedly knocked out power across the entire country.
- About last night: Were those bootcut or bell bottom jeans?
- And finally, get after it:
