On Wednesday, police found the body of a nude woman in Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem. Although initial reports suggested the woman may have been emotionally disturbed, last night police announced that they were treating Nina Rivera's death as a homicide.

The murder of Rivera, who was found under a pile of leaves near East 122nd Street and Madison Avenue, has brought up concerns over safety in the park, which stretches from West 120nd to 124th Streets from Madison Avenue to Mount Morris Park West. One of the problems is that the park falls between two precincts and two community boards, leading to a lot of confusion: "The park really is split down the middle. We want to have a sit down and discuss problem areas and what we can do," Paimaan Lodhi, district manager for Community Board 10, told DNAInfo.
