The NYPD is currently looking for a cyclist they believe struck a Subaru driver with his bike lock in Flatiron this week.
According to police, the bicyclist in question cut off the 54-year-old driver at the corner of West 24th Street and 5th Avenue, at around 5:40 p.m. on Monday.
After the two reportedly got into an argument, the cyclist allegedly struck the driver's car; police say he then hit the driver in the ear and on the cheek with his bike lock.
Authorities say the suspect fled the scene on his blue bike, heading eastbound on 23rd Street. The victim was treated for his injuries at Staten Island University North Hospital, and police say he required stitches.
The NYPD describes the suspect as a 5'5" male, weighing 160 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and a dark belt, light colored shorts, black stockings and black shoes. He also reportedly carried a black messenger bag.
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
