Couple Who Jumped From GW Bridge Were Wanted For Murdering Uncle

A man and woman who simultaneously jumped to their deaths from the George Washington Bridge on Monday were wanted for murder by Rockland County police.
40-year-old Nickie Circelli and 41-year-old Gary Crockett, both of Suffern, were on the lam after allegedly strangling Circelli's uncle a few hours before they made their fatal leap from the bridge, sources told the Post. They reportedly left a note implicating themselves.
The pair allegedly stole some cash and an AR-15 assault rifle from the uncle—with whom they lived rent-free—before choking him. They then jumped in a late-model Chevy Malibu and headed straight for the bridge, where they plunged into the water just after 11 a.m., hand-in-hand. Authorities dragged the couple from the Hudson River alive, but both were pronounced dead at St. Luke's Hospital a short time later.
Though neither carried I.D., authorities identified the suspects after Suffern cops called Port Authority on the suspicion that the jumpers were linked to the earlier murder.
Neighbors reported hearing a loud "boom" around 1:30 a.m. on Monday, followed by the sound of a car screeching out of the driveway. “In the morning I didn’t hear him cough,” said downstairs neighbor Josefina Rodriguez of the victim. “He always coughed. And every day I heard his truck. When I didn’t hear his truck, I thought something must be wrong.”
Both Circelli and Crockett had prior arrests, and neighbors described the lethal lovers as drug addicts and generally strange characters. Circelli had been arrested in the past for stealing tools from trucks parked outside a Home Depot in Monticello.
“I always thought there was something wrong with them,” a neighbor told the Post. “Maybe it was a bad energy about them. They just looked weird. Sometimes you can just tell there is something off about them.”
