Police are hunting for the man accused of sexually abusing a woman on Saturday night in Brooklyn, and investigators have released surveillance video in hopes the public can help identify him.
The 38-year-old victim says the man followed her home after she left the 25th Street subway station in Greenwood Heights on the night of October 22nd. The NYPD got the call around 10:30 p.m. The woman says the man followed her to her apartment building on 31st Street, and once inside the building, he grabbed her while they were between the first and second floors. "A struggle ensued and the victim fell onto the stairs where she was sexually abused," the NYPD said in a statement.
A police spokesman said the man "left a sample of himself on the victim." The victim refused medication attention for minor injuries.
The suspect, who fled, is described as being around 23 years old, 5'8" to 5'10" tall and 150-160 pounds with with short straight black hair and was last seen wearing a two-toned bubble jacket and dark jeans.
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
