Police have released images of a man who allegedly shot and killed a homeless man near Bryant Park early Saturday morning.

Cops found the victim, 27-year-old Terrance Walker, fatally shot on the corner of 40th Street and Sixth Avenue around 2 a.m. on Saturday. Walker, who is reportedly homeless, was shot in the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A witness told the Daily News that Walker and his killer were seen fighting on the sidewalk in the bitter cold moments before the fatal shooting. It's unclear what the altercation was about, or if the men knew each other. (A police source tells the News that the suspect is also homeless.)

After shooting Walker, police told Gothamist, the man fled west and walked into a deli located at 1065 Sixth Avenue, where he was caught on surveillance footage. "You're by Bryant Park. Everything is on video. You're gonna get caught," an NYPD source told the Post.

Police also found the weapon, a .38 caliber handgun, near the scene.

Police described the alleged shooter as being around six feet tall and weighing 190 pounds. He's between 20 and 30 years old, has a goatee, and was last seen wearing a black, puffy winter coat, a black cap, black pants, and black shoes.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577.
