The weather wizard is twisting lots of dials and pulling many levers behind the curtain this week but all that pulling and twisting isn't really going to do much to the end product. Between now and tomorrow night we'll see not one, not two, but three weak cold fronts pass through the city. Today's frontal passages may produce a shower or thunderstorm but they are likely to stay well north of the city. Instead look for a mix of sun and clouds and a high around 75, which is exactly normal for mid-September.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday should all be dry with highs in the mid 70s. The big story, and it's not much of a story, will be the cool air on Wednesday night. Grab an extra blanket as the city will cool to the low 50s and the suburbs into the 40s on Thursday morning.

An approaching cold front and the passage of an upper-level shortwave will combine to make the air unstable on Friday. Maybe. As of now there's a slight chance of showers from late Thursday night through Friday. The last weekend of summer is looking sunny with seasonal temperatures. Unless, of course, Igor unexpectedly starts getting close to the area.
