A Brooklyn man has been indicted after authorities said he blew through a stop sign and crashed into a school bus — killing his passenger — before escaping in an Uber.

Tyree Epps, 32, was arraigned on a slew of charges Wednesday in the alleged East New York hit-and-run, including second-degree manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and second-degree assault.

The Brooklyn district attorney’s office said the February crash killed Epps’ passenger, 26-year-old Imani Vance. The DA’s office said the crash also pushed the school bus into a third, unoccupied vehicle, injuring the bus driver. No passengers on the bus were hurt.

“The tragic loss of Imani Vance was allegedly caused by the defendant’s reckless decision to ignore a stop sign and drive at excessive speeds,” Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez said in a statement. “His actions showed a shocking disregard for human life and safety, made worse by his attempt to flee the scene instead of helping the victim."

The DA’s office said Epps left Vance in the car, called an Uber and ordered the driver to drive away. The NYPD then tracked down the Uber and stopped the driver, the office said.

That’s when Epps jumped out of the Uber and fled on foot, according to the DA’s office. Cops caught him shortly after, officials said.

The accident occurred on the corner of Van Sinderen and Blake avenues in East New York.

Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Dineen Riviezzo ordered Epps held without bail with a June 20 court date.

Epps’ lawyer didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
