Police are searching for a man who attacked and slashed two random people in the Bronx this week. Both incidents happened on the same street in Williamsbridge on Sunday and Monday, and both victims were over 60. “He’s crazy or something and he’s on the loose they didn’t catch him so we gotta be on the lookout right now,” one local resident told CBS.
The first slashing happened around 8 p.m. Sunday night in front of 3467 Boston Road, when the suspect approached a 60-year-old man and slashed him on the left side of his neck with an unknown object. An employee at Tony's Pizza saw the victim and rushed to help. “I just came from a delivery and when I came in, my mom said ‘Call the cops’ because I saw a guy was bleeding,” a witness told CBS. The victim was taken to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition.
Less than 24 hours later, the suspect struck again just after 1 p.m. in front of 3631 Boston Road—this time, the suspect slashed a 65-year-old woman in the left side of her face with an unknown object. She was also taken to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition. Resident Marcia Tee told the Post these attacks were "very uncommon for this area. This is a safe neighborhood."
In both incidents, the suspect didn't say anything to the victims, and nothing was taken from the victims. Police describe the attacker as 5-foot-9 and 150 pounds. Anyone with information in regard to either of these incidents is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
