The neverending quest for a more attractive ass has claimed another victim in Queens, where the District Attorney is prosecuting a woman for allegedly performing a buttocks enhancement procedure that went horribly wrong. Liliana Coello, 39, is accused of charging her victim a "discounted" rate of $2,300 for a series of procedures that resulted in a serious infection that will "pose a life-long issue," according to the DA.
Prosecutors say the victim received the procedures in Coello's Flushing home, where Coello, "using a large needle, injected each of the customer’s buttocks multiple times with a clear gel-like substance that the defendant called 'expandable cells' and that after each injection the defendant kneaded the area to distribute the substance around the buttocks." The victim "experienced daily redness, pain and swelling" after the procedure, as well as *shudder* "leakage." So she returned to Coello's home for help.
Coello attempted to fix the problem by allegedly injecting her buttocks "with substances purported to be penicillin" on two separate occasions. On her victim's fourth visit, she allegedly "applied Krazy glue to the sites that were leaking." Shockingly, that didn't really heal the butthurt woman, who finally sought help from actual doctors at New York Presbyterian Hospital. She was diagnosed with "massive cellulitis (infection) of the buttocks with chronic inflammatory response." She was released after several days, but returned two more times, staying for a week each time. Yes, it gets worse, according to the DA:
The doctors who treated the victim determined that she is experiencing a foreign body reaction to the injected substance, that the injected substance is migrating to other parts of her body, that she has been in constant pain and has difficulty sitting. A biopsy of the migrating substance determined that it is consistent with silicone and/or paraffin. Furthermore, according to the victim’s doctors, the substance in the victim’s body is potentially life threatening in that she can develop gangrene, that the substance could be carcinogenic, there can be vascular compromise of the leg which would affect the flow of blood.
Coello was arraigned on charges of second-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment and unauthorized practice of medicine. District Attorney Brown said, “The defendant allegedly exploited the vanity of her customer by pretending to be qualified to perform a procedure that in fact may only legally be performed in New York State by a licensed medical professional. This is a serious crime that could have had fatal consequences for the victim had she not sought legitimate medical assistance. Even doing so, she remains in a potentially life-threatening condition." Indeed, it's happened before with fatal consequences.
