Mayor Bloomberg has no qualms spending buckets of dough get his way—third term, anyone?—but that doesn't mean he has a clue how his current million-dollar ad buy is doing. That's buy was just a drop in the ocean of his massive wealth after all!
When asked if his ads (which are meant to persuade New Yorkers that, among other things, it is in our best interest to drop the so-called "Last In, First Out" teacher firing policy) were having the desired effect he told reporters: "No, I don't know. You know, nobody's mentioned to me any of the ads that people have been running with what I think is not exactly representing the real situation, and nobody's mentioned to me the ads where I've tried to explain, you know, what I think's happened here."
Meanwhile the ad blitz didn't stop with those TV ads. The Post is reporting that Hizzoner is also sending out roughly another million dollars worth of flyers with the line "Albany's Budget Cuts Will Hurt Our Families. That's Why Mike Bloomberg Is Standing Up For Us," emblazoned on the front. Will these flyers make a difference? It doesn't sound like Bloomie is too worried either way.
