While it's not a White Christmas right now, meteorologists say that a snow storm is headed our way and holiday travelers may be screwed. According to Accuweather, "The worst of this monster storm will slam the Delmarva during the day on Sunday, Philadelphia and New York City Sunday afternoon and night, and Boston Sunday evening into Monday morning... Travel will become nearly impossible from Philadelphia northward as the all-out blizzard ensues late Sunday into early Monday morning. Those planning to travel on Interstate 95 during this time run the risk of becoming stranded for a time." However, it's possible the storm might miss NYC. Update (see more below): BLIZZARD WARNING IN EFFECT FOR NYC!!!
The storm could veer off the coast, but if it doesn't, some predict "five to eight inches late Sunday." On Long Island, it might be six to nine inches.
Update: The Office of Emergency Management Tweeted, "The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for New York City from 6:00 AM tomorrow through 6:00 PM Monday. The current forecast calls for 11-16 inches of snow accompanied by strong winds. With visibility expected to be near zero at times, caution should be exercised when traveling. For more information visit www.weather.gov/nyc."
