Commuters traveling between New York City and Pennsylvania may want to make other plans.

Amtrak has temporarily suspended all rail service out of New York Penn Station and Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station following a track incident in Pennsylvania on Thursday evening, officials said.

Crews placed a hold on the tracks and there was no estimated time for when service would resume as of Thursday night, according to Amtrak.

An Amtrak spokesperson said the disruption stems from an incident earlier in the day involving Train 85, which was traveling from Boston to Richmond. Around 6:10 p.m., three individuals on the tracks came into contact with the train in Bristol, Pennsylvania, the spokesperson said.

There were no reported injuries to the 236 passengers or crew members onboard, the Amtrak spokesperson said.

Separately, Amtrak posted on social media that “local municipality personnel” placed a hold on the tracks, and that there is no timeline yet for when service will be restored.

Amtrak was working with the Bristol Township Police Department to investigate. The department did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

This is a developing story and may be updated.
