Last year, when the NJ State police pulled over a van full of minority students on the Turnpike (and searched and handcuffed them), some suggested the cops were practicing racial profiling. But then it was discovered one of the students, Rodney Tanzymore of Queens, had called 911 and said that the passengers had guns. Tanzymore was sentenced to 90 days in jail and to continue mental health counseling. The 20-year-old has a history of making prank 911 calls—months before the NJ Turnpike incident, he called 911 saying a man matching his description was brandishing a firearm in Queens.
