The National 9/11 Memorial and Museum is still on track to open in time for the tenth anniversary of the attack. To whet people's appetites, we guess, today it launched an impressive interactive timeline on its website. From the hijackers going through security at 5:45 a.m. through George W. Bush's national address at 8:30 p.m. that night, the museum has managed to pack a whole lot of material—including some truly disturbing video and audio files—into one socialmedia-friendly website.
It isn't exactly an easy timeline to go through, but that is exactly the point. "We don’t want it to be sugarcoated," one man who lost his wife in the Towers told the Post regarding the project. "We want people to understand what it was like."
While most of the material presented will be familiar to anyone who remembers September 11, 2001, some of it (like this picture taken from inside the South Tower) was still new to us.
