A 6-month-old baby died after police found the child unconscious inside a Brooklyn home overnight, according to the NYPD.
Officers responded around 12 a.m. Wednesday to a 911 call about an unresponsive baby at a home near Flatlands Avenue and East 99th Street in Canarsie, police said. When they arrived, they found the infant unconscious and unresponsive.
EMS took the child to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where the baby was pronounced dead, according to police.
The NYPD said no arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
The city's Office of Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death, police said.
The infant's identity has not been released pending notification of family members.
