Yesterday morning, firefighters worked to fight two intense fires. One was in the Parkville section of Brooklyn, where a four-alarm fire injured two people. Around 170 firefighters put the fire out; the FDNY they were able to contain the fire and keep it from spreading to more buildings. And in the Williamsbridge section of the Bronx, a five-alarm fire spread to two structures. About 20 firefighters were injured; a dog reportedly died and residents were displaced. A resident told NY1 his mother was at the inauguration in DC, "I called her, and she said she was at the inauguration. And she sounded so happy, I couldn't say it. I couldn't say it to her over the phone. I was just like, 'come home.'" It's unclear what caused either fire.
