Police are investigating a double homicide in Manhattan and a third homicide in Brooklyn that left two teenagers and a 25-year-old dead on Sunday, the NYPD said.
All three killings were the result of shootings reported to police around 7:30 p.m. via 911.
Officers arrived at East 128th Street and Lexington Avenue in East Harlem to find an 18-year-old woman with gunshot wounds to her head and back and a 25-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his head, according to the NYPD.
Both victims were taken to Harlem Hospital. Police said the 18-year-old was pronounced dead on arrival, shortly after 8 p.m., and later identified as Ashley Ballard, an East Harlem resident who lived less than half a mile from the shooting.
The 25-year-old was pronounced dead just before 10 p.m. and later identified as Harry Mendoza, a Washington Heights resident who lived less than two miles from the shooting.
It was not immediately clear if the victims knew each other, and there have been no arrests so far. An NYPD spokesperson said they had no updates on the case as of early Monday.
East Flatbush shooting
Police said they responded to a call for shots fired at 256 East 37th St. in East Flatbush and found a 17-year-old boy with gunshot wounds to his neck and torso.
He was taken to Kings County Hospital and pronounced dead. He was later identified as Bryan Henriquez, a Flatbush resident who lived less than a mile from the shooting.
There have also been no arrests in the case and the NYPD spokesperson said they had no updates as of early Monday.
This is a developing story and may be updated.
