Say it ain't so! The Mets beat the Braves again! And in a shutout! We can't stop using exclamation points!! Where is our editor!! Behind the stellar pitching of Kris Benson and a surprisingly potent offense, the Mets defeated the Braves, 7-0 (box score). The Mets have won 2 of the 3 games thus far in the 5 game series.

Russ Ortiz, the starter for the Braves, had not lost on the road since April 28th and he didn't finish the 5th inning in last night's game. The complete game shutout by Benson was the first one for the Mets this season, which should help in his contract talks with the organization.

The Mets tagged Ortiz for three home runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings. David Wright and Eric Valent hit their 12th of the season and Cliff Floyd hit his 18th of the season.

And for no real reason whatsoever, the picture of Anna Benson above.
