Jets fans can only feel good knowing that two touchdowns in two weeks were enough for two road victories for their team, and road to the AFC Playoffs just got a lot clearer, by way of a 13-3 victory over the Arizona Cardinals in Tempe yesterday.
After being knocked silly immediately at the start of the game, quarterback Quincy Carter came through in the end (particularly on a 69-yard strike to Santana Moss) and even found redemption of sorts, writes the Times' William C. Rhoden. Then again, his team got ample help from the Cards, who seemed to be in a giving mood, with four turnovers in the fourth quarter.
"It's a tribute to (Carter) to basically come in here running this offense for three weeks and come out with a 2-1 record," Pennington said. "That's pretty sweet."
So, once again, it's one of those 'Never worry about how a victory looks' situations, as the Jets head into hosting Houston this Sunday (1 p.m., TV: CBS, Radio: 1050 ESPN, 770 WABC).
