Twenty years after the Democratic National Convention inspired it, the wildly successful and oft-imitated New York City Restaurant Week is returning for another spin around town. The three-courses for $24.07 (lunch) or $35 (dinner) deal starts up January 16 and (in theory) ends February 10. Ready to make some reservations?
Sure some folks grumble about small portions during RW and some waitstaff say they actually lose out on tips because of penny-pinching deal hunters, but for a chance to visit a normally "too fancy" or "too expensive" place like The 21 Club, Boulud Sud, Cipriani, Gotham Bar and Grill, Le Caprice, Megu, Nobu, The Palm or SHO Shaun Hergatt you really can't top Restaurant Week. Of course, many of the fancier places only offer deals on lunch (*cough* Lincoln *cough*), but you win some you lose some.
You can see the full list of restaurants with their available times (and many of their Restaurant Week menus) on the Restaurant Week site. And, bonus for AmEx users: If you register your card and use it three times on Restaurant Week meals you'll get $20 bucks taken off your statement.
