Restaurateur Roni Mazumdar's short-lived eatery Tapestry has been reborn as Rahi, an artisanal Indian restaurant with a brand-new chef and menu. Chef Chintan Pandya flipped the script on the now-common "snacks, apps, mains" menu designations, instead interpreting each dish's category by the length of time it takes to eat it. Thus we have "New York Minute," "At Ease," and "Leisurely."
Those pressed for time can opt for Chilli Cheese Toast or Bhuna Bhutta, a grilled corn on the cob dish topped with turmeric, chaat masala and lime. Not-a-Saag-Roti—a cornbread finger sandwich stuffed with mustard greens—Chicken Kofta and Kasundi Cod are for those with a little bit more time. And finally, larger dishes like Butter Pepper Lobster and a Dalhouise Shepherds Pie with ground lamb for longer meals.
Booze beverages include a rum-infused Karrif Mango Lassi and a Sandalwood Old Fashioned, which is apparently served on fire.
