A new Italian restaurant is coming to Midtown next week, boasting a menu of single-strand pasta and other classic fare. Allora Ristorante, which opens Monday, will be located in The Bernic Hotel on 47th Street between Third Avenue and Lexington Avenue.
The menu focuses on northern Italian cuisine—entrees range from $23 to $30 and include Vongole Oreganate, lightly breaded and baked clams; Carpaccio De Manzo, thinly-sliced filet mignon served on a bed of arugula; and Branzino, which is prepared at the table. There are also a few lighter options, like an appetizer combo that includes crab and prosciutto, a scallop and cocktail trio, or a caesar salad.
But their main focus is pasta, specifically the meat-heavy Miller's Wife Pasta, a single-strand pasta from Abruzzo topped with a ragu of milled tomatoes, lamb, and pork and finished with mini veal meatballs. The dish is large enough to feed two people (or one very hungry person) and is served on a wooden platter with scissors, so you can trim the long strand into bites as you eat—but it won't be available until January. Until then, they'll have other pasta options on the menu.
According to the Times, Allora Ristorante will be offering rooftop seating in the spring. Unfortunately, winter is just beginning.
Allora Ristorante opens on Monday, December 19th and is located at 145 East 47th Street in Manhattan.
