In the early days of Ridgewood's big restaurant expansion there was Bun-Ker, an eclectically-adorned, no-frills Vietnamese restaurant turning out comforting bowls of pho and crispy banh xeo. Now the team is expanding into Brooklyn, opening up a new restaurant at 99 Scott Avenue, reports Brooklyn Paper. The restaurant went in front of Community Board 1's liquor license committee on Monday night, gaining approval so long as the restaurant agreed to keep the noise down.

In its previous life, 99 Scott had been home to a pop-up nightclub dubbed Brooklyn Mirage, whose raves drew noise complaints from locals. Bun-ker says they're planning a modest restaurant operation with an outdoor area surrounded by cement walls. The CB also approved a license on a winery to share a space on the site, though both establishments will have to wait for the larger Community Board and SLA approval for the final word.
