You have two choices this week: you can either clean the dust out of your A/C and hole up in your room with six seasons of Dawson's Creek and a tub of sorbet, OR you can attend one of these delicious food and drink events and feast in style. THE CHOICE IS YOURS.
Tuesday's got two stellar food events. First, West Village eatery The Spotted Pig will be celebrating the release of chef Tom Mylan's cookbook, The Meat Hook Meat Book by offering some of the book's dishes a la carte, alongside the regular menu items. You can sample meat-heavy offerings like grilled duck hearts, duck rillettes, and pork chops with cheddar grits from 5:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.—just note that the restaurant doesn't take reservations (yet!).
Also on Tuesday, Pony Bar East on the UES is hosting Shmaltz Brewing Company brewmaster Paul McErlean, who'll be offering up a selection of brews for purchase. Sample David's Slingshot, Funky Jewbelation 2014, Rejewvenator 2014, Bittersweet Lenny's R.I.P.A., Hop Manna and more from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.—the event is free to attend, and you can pay for your beers as you go.
And on Thursday, Whole Foods Market in Gowanus will be hosting its second Beer Dinner at in-store bar and restaurant The Roof. Two Roads Brewing Co. will be on hand to offer beer pairings for the $50-per-person six course dinner, with a portion of proceeds benefitting The Prospect Park Alliance. Dishes include a Thai curry spring roll, blue cheese-stuffed pork tenderloin and bourbon-cured sea bass; the dinner kicks off at 7 p.m., and you can purchase a ticket online.
