Aunt Jake's: Italian Specialties, an Italian eatery (as the name suggests), has opened in Manhattan's red-sauce drenched Little Italy on Mulberry Street between Grand and Hester, offering counter service and fresh, made to order pastas—and they're promising to turn them out very, very quickly.

Chef Carmine Di Giovanni—who has worked at Picholine, David Burke Townhouse, and, most recently, Greenwich Project—has returned to his Italian roots and crafted a menu of specialty pasta dishes like Rabbit Ragu ($18), Chicken Bolognese Rigatoni ($16), and Wild Boar Pasta ($18), which boasts, garlic, shallots, chili, pecorino, basil, ziti, and of course some ground wild boar, among others.

You can also keep it simple or make up your own with their Create Your Own Pasta menu, which ranges from $9 to $12. Choose a shape (ziti, cavatelli, spaghetti nero and others) and then a sauce in which it can be tossed, from a simple marinara to a roasted garlic pecorino, loaded up with heavy cream, garlic and butter.

They also have live pasta-making up front and every purchase comes with a recipe card so you can try making some delectable pasta at home, Master of None-style.
