It's been a busy summer for Matt Kliegman and Carlos Quirarte, partners of The Smile and newly-opened satellite operation The Smile To Go in DUMBO's new Empire Stores development. The duo return to Manhattan for their latest opening, Old Rose, a breakfast, lunch and dinner destination they're debuting Thursday at the unique ship- and train-inspired The Jane Hotel in the West Village.

The new restaurant doesn't hop aboard the transportation theme, but it's a handsome space, boasting ceiling-high windows, Picasso-esque murals by Stefano Castronovo, and sleek, marble-top tables on a checkered marble floor. Empty tomato cans have been cheekily repurposed into napkin and utensil holders on the tables.

The restaurant opens daily at 7 a.m. for breakfast, with millennial-approved day-starters like a granola dish with matcha yogurt and blueberries, with salads and sandwiches like an Italian Combo with all the expected cured meats plus pickled peppers, mayonnaise and arugula. At night, chef Joey Scalabrino rolls out pizzas, pastas and a daily vegetable entree, all of which change each evening.

The bar program skews Italian with negronis on draft—along with Black Manhattans, a version of the classic that employs Amaro Averna instead of sweet vermouth—plus beer and wine.

Those curious about the replica Titanic they see on view: survivors of the doomed ocean liner landed on nearby Pier 54 after being rescued by the Carpathia.

Old Rose is located inside the Jane Hotel at 113 Jane Street, (212) 255-4143; oldrosenyc.com
