When you want a bit more of an upscale date than, say, the Staten Island Ferry, there's North River Lobster Company, which offers gratis cruises on the Husdon beginning May 1st. The ship debuted last year, offering 45 minute cruises at select times of the day, including happy hour and sunset options. It's more like a floating restaurant, really, that occasionally breaks free from its moorings to roam around the river.

The tri-level ship has expanded to accommodate 150 additional revelers this year, bringing the total capacity to 450. Each floor contains its own bar, where they'll offer mason jar cocktails ($14) like margaritas, spiced iced teas and dark and stormys, plus $7 bottles and $29 buckets of Corona, Pacifico and other beers—hey, the cruise is free, after all. If you're wondering about the atmosphere, be advised there are $8 shots of Fireball and $10 shots of Patron on offer as well. There will be Chads, but there will also be lobster.

The lobster refers to the Maine Lobster Rolls ($21.95) and butter-steamed fresh lobsters ($32.95/MP) available on board. Other seafood items include Fried Calamari ($14.95), a Shrimp Po Boy ($14.95) and Fish and Chips ($16.95) with fries; chicken sandwiches, Caesar salads and a burger round out the food options.

When it isn't cruising around the Hudson, the ship will be docked at Pier 81 at West 41st Street, with lunch, dinner and late-night (til midnight Fridays and Saturdays) dining and drinking on board.
