Dons Bogam Black, sibling to Koreatown staple Dons Bogam BBQ & Wine Bar, has soft opened on 5th Avenue, offering another option for Korean BBQ and cuisine in the Koreatown environs. The restaurant officially opens on November 7th, but the grills are fired up now, cooking up a large selection of prime graded beef and other proteins grilled table-side to order.

Unlike some other Korean BBQ spots, this restaurant wheels over "hi-tech roving carts" that allegedly reduce smoke so you don't leave smelling like a smoke pit (not that there's anything wrong with that). The speciality to grill is Washugyu, a crossbreed of Japanese Black Wagyu and American Black Angus, but the large menu also offers Saeng Galbi (boneless short rib), Bulgogi, Saeng Samgyeopsal (pork belly), and even a grilling cheese for vegetarians. Grilled entrees come with banchan, the side dishes, but the restaurant also offers stews, noodles and Dolsot Bibimbap, the rice dish served in hot stone bowls.

The large, 4,000-square-foot space offers seating for 200, plus 40 more at the bar, which serves its own special food menu (think fried things like crab croquettes and a Bulgogi Burger). On offer for libations: Korean beer, sake, soju, six cocktails and wine by the bottle.
