The unstoppable Upper West Side brunch force Jacob's Pickles hopes to strike gut-busting gold twice with their next restaurant, Maison Pickle, now open in the former Ouest space on Broadway. And friends: it's all about the french dip.
There are five different riffs on the sloppy sandwich on offer. The Classic's ($18) got a simple slick of horseradish aioli to accompany the thinly sliced beef and crock of savory au jus. Another has gruyere fondue and fried onions (Deluxe, $21) and the king of them all, the Royale ($37), comes with Hudson Valley foie gras. Shhh...the meat sweats pass, eventually.
It's a very meaty menu all around—is the UWS meat central now? There's a Patty Melt ($16) on offer, steaks like Filet Mignon au Poivre ($38) and a Merguez Sausage entree ($23) with dirty fried rice and yogurt. They'll even serve you an entire Half Pig Head Confit for two ($80). The Pickle family has never been one for restraint.
Maison Pickle also wants to get you drunk. Their extensive whiskey selection includes bottles from America, Ireland, Scotland and Japan. Or get wild with one of their many absinthes and tuck into a skillet of mac and cheese, one of their signature items. The Pickle doesn't judge.
