An eighth grader at a Queens public school has been accused of selling pot brownies to her Junior High classmates. Officials say at least 20 students bought the marijuana-laced brownies from a female student, who sold them for $3 each, or two for $5. Some parents were so agitated and upset, they lapsed into talking like it was happy hour at a '20s speakeasy: “They slipped my son a mickey,” one such angry mom, who didn’t want her name used, told the Daily News. “How come nobody noticed these kids were high?”

The brownies were sold in the cafeteria during lunch on Thursday and Friday, one of the parents said—they estimated the "baked baker" raked in about $250. The kids who ingested the brownies will face a hearing at the school to determine their punishment, said Department of Education spokeswoman Margie Feinberg. “This was a troubling incident, and as soon as the school learned about it they reported it to us and reached out to the parents of the student involved,” said Feinberg.

Officials are also bringing in a counselor to speak to the school community about substance abuse and prevention, Feinberg added. Middle schools seem really bizarre to us—but did we learn nothing from season 4 of The Wire? No work is geting done, there's rampant sexual harassment, and now kids are passing around pot brownies.

A fourth-grader "who didn’t want to be identified" summed up the school: “It’s kinda berserk here." Just wait till those kids find out about Lazy Cakes.
