On the same Escalade-clogged block of midtown that's home to Lavo and Tao you will now find Tokya, a bi-level nightclub and sushi lounge intent on drawing its fair share of stiletto-heeled woo girls and the moneyed men who woo them. But serious EDM club kids may also feel comfortable in the opulent and somewhat psychedelic environs—Tokya features an immersive "3-D digital mapping projection system," with special 3-D glasses provided to interested parties upon arrival. Of course, you don't necessarily need the glasses to get a contact high off the far-out visuals and constantly changing mood-lighting.

The club feels like a trippy, futuristic jewel box at night (Thrillist has some cool GIFs that give you a sense of how the 3-D environment comes off) and has already attracted big-shots like Trey Songz and Drake, who celebrated his birthday there. The sound system is booming, but everything gets turned down a notch in the early evening, when the club doubles as an upscale sushi lounge.

Executive Chef Eiji Takase (formerly of Sushi Samba, Japonais in Chicago and Shibuya at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas) created the menu, which is accented by adventurous rolls like the "Hard 8," made with Cilantro, shiso, jalapeno, fresh salmon, crispy onions, spicy mayo, sweet soy, and topped with melted-fresh Mozzarella. There are also more traditional options, such as a spicy tuna tartar, yuca chips, red wine vinegar, and sweet soy; and a fresh Yellowtail Jalapeno Sashimi that comes with Jalapenos and yuzu garlic soy. Check out the full menu here; apps and rolls range between $6-$20.

At 11 p.m. on Thursdays - Sunday, the lower level is reconfigured for 3-D dance party time. There's no cover, but reservations are recommended.
