The very special day to celebrate pierogis has come and gone, but there's another opportunity to indulge on delicious Eastern European dumplings. On Saturday, it's Pierogi Tasting Day at East Village Meat Market, where they'll be doling out free pierogis from their neighbors at Veselka, Jimmy's No. 43, Streecha Ukrainian Kitchen and others. It's a day long event, beginning at 9 a.m. and concluding at 6 p.m.; they'll have all types of flavors from vegetarian potato, cheese and sauerkraut, plus seasonal specials like pumpkin and short rib.
The Queens Night Market concludes a successful first season with a Trick-Or-Treat party at their new location in Downtown Jamaica, Queens. All of their delicious international vendors will be on hand, from skewers to tostones and the like, plus the promise of some free treats. Halloween-type festivities include pumpkin decorating and a costume contest.

Strap on a Sexy Pizza Rat costume and head over to your local Chipotle as the chain has resurrected their Boorito fundraiser on Halloween night. Beginning at 5 p.m., stop by any store wearing a costume and you'll be rewarded with a $3 burrito, salad, bowl or taco. They're trying to make it more complicated this year with some requirement that costumes include an "unnecessary" element—vampire in a tutu was given as an example—so I guess carry a tiara around for Queen Sexy Pizza Rat or whatever. Proceeds benefit the chain's Chipotle Cultivate Foundation.
As we pad our bodies for hibernation season, Broken Spoke Rotisserie has launched a new brunch to help us achieve those sleepy, satisfied feelings. In addition to their tasty rotisserie chicken, the restaurant will offer a Latin American-inspired brunch menu including Chilaquiles ($12) with fried eggs, a Monte Cristo sandwich ($13) with spicy pickles and guava jelly and a "BSR Big Bowl Menudo" with onions, radish and a fried egg. Lighter fare includes a She Wolf Toast ($11) topped with smashed beans, smoked bluefish, avocado and pickled onion and a "Not My Abuela’s Chicken Masa Ball Soup" ($10) with autumn vegetables.
