Finally, what watching the Super Bowl from your living room needed: FANCY FOOD. Daniel Boulud's Épicerie Boulud is accepting orders until tomorrow (Saturday, 2/4) at 7 p.m. for items like Amish Chicken Wings (Traditional Buffalo with Blue Cheese or Thai Style with Peanut Sauce), Pulled BBQ Short Ribs (with Brussels Sprout Slaw & Peppered Buns) and House Made Hotdogs... there's even White Cheddar & Smoked Bacon Popcorn.
When we asked what inspired Boulud to go after the football-watching crowd, a representative told us, "Daniel confesses when it comes to sports, his first love is Formula One racing, but he’s been here in the US for 30 years now and has caught the football bug from his right hand man, Brett Traussi. Brett is Director of Daniel Boulud’s restaurant group, and together the two have done some very impressive tailgating!" When the menu was announced on Wednesday, the first orders were for the hot dogs, which are made by Daniel's "in-house charcuterie team. Same goes for the buns, made by our own in-house bread baker."
You can see the menu, which also has two-foot subs, chili, and 5-layer dip, here (PDF)—clearly, it's an upscale option, because the wings for $36 for two dozen (at Blondie's, you can get a bucket of 50 for $38.95). We also have other great Super Bowl catering options, from BBQ to sushi.
