Citymeals on Wheels, which delivers meals to home-bound, elderly New Yorkers, has launched a Brooklyn Brunches program to raise funds for their endeavors. From now through the end of the month, dine at one of the participating Brooklyn restaurants, each of whom offer either a monetary donation on a specific dish or the option to leave a customized donation. Jack The Horse, Peaches, Speedy Romeo, Colonie and Llama Inn are a few of the restaurants involved.
For Mother's Day, Williamsburg's Humboldt & Jackson is doing an all-you-can-eat buffet brunch prepared by guest Chef J. Jackson. On the buffet line: build-your-own parfait, soft scrambled eggs with scallions, milk bread toast with honey butter and the red velvet cinnamon rolls pictured above, among other items. The brunch is $15.99 per person. The space is also hosting a Kentucky Derby viewing party on Saturday with free local cheeses and charcuterie to guests who RSVP in advance.
If bottomless brunch is more your style, check out Jue Lan Club's inaugural offering. The deal includes three courses for $34.95, beginning with an appetizer, entree (Roasted Pork Egg Foo Young or Crunchy Vegetable Rice, for example) and dessert. Also included, unlimited bloody marys, lychee bellinis, mimosas or screwdrivers.
